Helping us towards a carbon neutral festival

Kent Showground, Detling, Kent | 2nd-9th August 2025

Exploring the Festival Village will reveal some treats whether you desire to experience an adrenalin rush or take some time out and unwind with friends from your fast paced festival life. At night Rio takes on a whole new feel. There are still places to chill, places to meet, places to be with festival friends but its also where you can party be entertained and enjoy that Rio vibe.

Rio has many districts all with their own identity and history. Our Festival reflects this taking its inspiration from the city's quarters to give our participants and leaders an eclectic mix of culture, faiths, discovery, food, history, entertainment and activities.

Rio

Rio is the place to mingle and move around various attractions.

Participants and their leaders, as part of their programme schedule will have a dedicated afternoon as well as evening time to experience Rio.

You will find our retail outlets offering general camping equipment for all those items you forgot to bring or to pick up a bargain or two, our brand shop and scout memorabelia.

Rio is packed full of festival favourites as voted by you, which includes tea ceremonies, badge swapping, youth hub, scouting history and festival radio and a new potential favorite the festival roller disco.

Foodies looking for an evening or late night snack. Our purpose built food hall offers a range of delights to satisfy most palettes. Undercover, yet open-air you can watch performances on the busker stage or take in one of the INTO films and our cartoon classics.

There will be shaded chill-down areas where you to take time out and soak up the amazing Rio atmosphere, listen to our Festival Radio, visit our TV studio experience, meet with friends, take part in yoga, have some twister fun or maybe treat yourself to a pink cow ice-cream.

There may be a funfair ride or two......
