Helping us towards a carbon neutral festival

2nd-9th August 2025

Thank you. Two simple words, so often overlooked and undervalued, but the festival recognises the goodwill and effort you bring in supporting young people attending to ensure all our Scouts and Guides have an amazing time.

We want you likewise to have an amazing experience. Take every opportunity to discover our Urban Hub: it's especially for leaders and members of KIST. Here you can bring your mug for a drinks refill at our all day free complimentary drinks station, access the café, meet new friends, relax in the social areas, book training, attend seminars or get programme ideas. In the evening you are welcome to visit the bar in the Urban Hub where there will be a week-long schedule of entertainment.

During the afternoon and evening you can visit Rio where you will find our discovery park, Food Hall, shops, arena and funfair. We'll open up some of our activities in the evening just for you.....so if you fancy a stunt jump, the thrill of our high speed zip wire, take the Festival Challenge, or be a big kid in our ball pit, look out for opening times and see you there.

You can visit other subcamps and learn about their unique themes, make international connections and links, so brush up on your "hello's" from around the world.

So, leaders, get ready to lead, laugh, and live it up at the 'Festival of Scouting and Guiding 2025'.

It's not just a festival; it's an adventure waiting to be written, and you're holding the pen. See you in the subcamps, at the arena, watching adventure films in the Food Hall or perhaps at the badge swap - let the festival journey of a lifetime begin!

All leaders will get a goody bag that will include your scarf and badges, all leaders will get access to the Urban Hub and bar.

If you are the lead member of an international contingent and require support on getting from your UK landing destination (sea port, Eurotunnel, Eurostar or airport) to our festival site, please contact us and we can provide you with logistic support and guidance for travel arrangements. We also have a dedicated team who are on hand to help with visa and group travel applications, Scout and Guide Association letters and have additional support from the UK Scout and Guide Lead volunteers for UK International Events.

As a festival we are passionate about our ambition to be carbon neutral and have a wealth of resources to share with all who attend. We will signpost you to aspects of our theme 'Sustainability' before our festival and encourage you to raise awareness with those attending.

During the event we will have a mobile app that will navigate you around the many activities on offer, showcase the Festival Challenge and inform you of the festival schedule. It will also interact with QR and VR codes around our festival at key discovery locations and activities, highlighting our ethos and sharing impactful information about climate change. But if you don't wish to bring mobiles, you can download relevant information prior to arriving so no one misses out.

Booking - we know that booking can be a daunting task. Please take time to complete as best you can, as much as you can, as early as you can. But there may be aspects of our online tools you don't fully understand, or you press a wrong button, or it just won't do what you want it to do! Don't panic. The chances are you are not the only one, and we are here to help. So if you need a fix or a simple question answered please contact us at admin@kij.org.uk
