Programme & Activities

To help you navigate around the festival some of our activity areas have been named after one of the top ranking sustainable cities in the world.

We want everyone to enjoy the many experiences we have on offer, in a relaxed, friendly, and inclusive way. Participants will get a colour coded table showing where they need to be on each day (morning / afternoon) and only their subcamp colour will gain them access.

Vienna : Since 2020, the city of Vienna has been on a path to achieving climate neutrality, a goal it set out to accomplish by 2040. The city aims to recycle 100% of its non-avoidable waste by 2050. By 2030, Vienna expects to increase the average life expectancy by two years and cut down 50% of all food waste

Urban planning has been relied on in order to keep Vancouver's city design as clean and efficient as possible, with a concept called eco-density. Eco-density refers to building vertically, as opposed to creating urban sprawl. The City of Vancouver has the goal of building exclusively energy-efficient buildings for all new buildings in the city. All buildings in the city are mandated to be carbon-neutral by 2030. Vancouver is very close to reaching 100% renewable electricity for the entire city.

There are fewer cars on the road because of the scheme. The Schools of Tomorrow programme has helped to improve the quality of education across the city. The programme targeted 155 schools in Rio’s most violent neighbourhoods. Community groups within the favelas meet regularly to discuss issues such as waste. In 2020 a new project was set up involving young people in the favela. The Young Friends of the Environment (JAMA) program, trains children as young as 14 to be environmental monitors.

Our Village will be open every afternoon exclusively for a subcamp to experience. Bringing a different vibe to our Festival it is an opportunity to take time out with friends, explore what we have on offer or get better access to the activities - here you will find the roller disco, youth hub, History of Scouting, open air cinema, International Cafe, Scout Adventures, faith & reflection, badge swapping, charities, shops, food court, our Festival radio station and fun fair.

Themed nights will be Sunday - Country & Western, Monday - Neon silent disco, Wednesday - Drag Bingo & Thursday - Beach party & band.

Some Guidence to help participants enjoy their activity packed days.

There will undoubtably be queues at some of our most popular activities, but there is plenty of time so we encourage our participants to relax and accept in some cases there will be short waiting times.

We will provide, for some of our larger activities, an arrival time to help manage throughput. Some
like our tree tops experience will have a ticket as this has proved the best way to manage that area at previous events. Where tickets and times are needed these will be distributed out from the Subcamp Support Teams.

On any given day, our cities and village will be open to those wearing the correct coloured subcamp neckerchief allocated to that zone, with the addition of a time slot or ticket where appropriate.
